2020 Linda Stringfellow Spirit of SHARE Award Recipients Announced

At SHARE Foundation’s Annual Employee Meetings, Dr. Brian Jones, President and CEO, announced the “Linda Stringfellow Spirit of SHARE” Award winners for 2020.

The “Spirit of SHARE” Award was created in 2004 to recognize employees of SHARE Foundation who go above and beyond their everyday duties. In 2017 the award was renamed in honor of retiring SHARE President/COO Linda Stringfellow to the “Linda Stringfellow Spirit of SHARE” Award.  Employees who have been with SHARE for at least one year are eligible with the exception of the President/CEO.

Nominees are made by fellow SHARE employees and the nominees are evaluated on their willingness to go the extra mile, as well as their compassion, loyalty, responsibility, and integrity toward their co-workers, patients, and members. An anonymous committee of the SHARE Foundation Board reviews the nominations and makes the selections.

This year there were two finalists and one, overall winner.

The first finalist was Melissa Henley, Life Touch Hospice In-Take Coordinator. Melissa goes above and beyond to be helpful and juggle many tasks.  She is a blessing.  If Melissa is asked to do something she is always willing to do it and never complains. She shows compassion for hospice and is willing to go the extra mile for patients, families, and the agency as a whole. Melissa is a very good example of SHARE’s IMPACT values.

Our second finalist was Janie Ward, HealthWorks Fitness Center Member Services Manager.  Janie is a go-getter. She takes pride in her work and goes above and beyond. Janie is wonderful and cares for her staff and members.   Janie's dedication is 100%. She is willing to do whatever is asked without complaint and is a trustworthy employee.   She is someone whose personal character epitomizes our values and deserves recognition.

Both finalists received an engraved award as well as an EXTRA day of paid vacation.

The overall 2020 Linda Stringfellow Spirit of SHARE Award winner is – Luther Harris, Jr., Life Touch Hospice Chaplain.

Luther is the epitome of an exemplary employee.  He goes out of his way for the patients, families, and staff of Life Touch to do something to make their day just a little brighter on a daily basis. Luther goes out of his way to make everyone feel special. He is someone that I am proud to look up to.  Luther has every SHARE value plus some.  He sets a positive example and will help anyone do anything and is always happy and eager to help in any way he can.   Everything Luther does, he does with enthusiasm. On multiple occasions when someone was not being themselves…Luther took time out of his busy schedule to take interest in their life, their situation, and pray for them and be a friend. If you had an orientation video to watch during new hire orientation of the ideal employee, it would be a day in the life of Brother Luther.

Luther received an engraved plaque and an additional week of paid vacation. Congratulations to all our 2020 Linda Stringfellow Spirit of SHARE award winners.
