HealthWorks Boomtown Goes Virtual

Due to Covid-19, HealthWorks Fitness Center’s Boomtown 5K Run and 2 Mile Walk fundraiser was postponed in March 2020. Instead of canceling this year’s event, HealthWorks is excited to announce the decision to go virtual! The dates for this new event will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 15th, and run through Wednesday, Sept. 30th.

A virtual 5k/Walk can be completed anytime and anywhere, even indoors on a treadmill. This year’s participants will earn a medal and a t-shirt while raising money for our Rock Steady Boxing program to benefit people with Parkinson’s disease. Rock Steady Boxing is a non-contact boxing class that uses forced intensity to reverse, reduce, and even delay the symptoms of Parkinson's Disease.

HealthWorks Fitness Center is an agency of SHARE Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to the health and well-being of Union and surrounding counties.  Its programs and services rely on the generous support from individuals, businesses and community foundations.

Registration for the Boomtown is $25. You can sign up at the front desk at HealthWorks or online at https://runsignup.com/Race/AR/ElDorado/Boomtown5kRun2MileWalk. Times must be submitted to runsignup.com or to HealthWorks before 11:59 pm on October 1st in order to qualify for a medal and t-shirt. For more information, call Heather Wise, HealthWorks Fitness Director at 870-862-5442.
