Position Summary:

Reporting to the President/CEO of the SHARE Foundation, the Executive Director of HealthWorks Fitness Center is responsible for, the overall management of all aspects of HealthWorks Fitness Center (HFC), serving as a liaison between SHARE administration, HFC staff, the HFC Advisory Board, and the community, promoting favorable community relations and partnerships, providing administration that is consistent with established goals, objectives and policies, providing leadership, strategic direction, and vision to develop and sustain HFC.  


Qualifications required: A relevant Bachelor’s degree and four years of proven successful experience as the General Manager of a fitness and aquatics facility are required. Experience in facility budget development, marketing, sales, public relations and community net-working are preferred. Experience as Regional Manager in the fitness industry is preferred. We are looking for an individual with the administrative experience to manage a sizable staff and budget, who also has the industry training and resources to provide cutting edge programming, the experience to retain and grow a membership base, and who appreciates the non-profit mission of HealthWorks. Eight years of equivalent management experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

About the Facility, HealthWorks is a multi-story 50,000 square foot fitness and aquatics center located near the heart of downtown El Dorado.  Formerly the local YWCA, the SHARE Foundation took over operations of the facility in 2002.  The facility has an annual operating budget of $1.8 million and an approximate membership base of 3,800 and over 70 employees who provide exceptional service to the community.  This non-profit fitness center provides membership assistance to around 300 individuals each month to use the facility.  Ongoing group fitness classes include Les Mills Body Pump, RPM, and CXWORX.  Other programing includes Yoga, Pilates and classes specifically for seniors like Drums Alive. The big news recently is the introduction of Rock Steady Boxing for individuals with Parkinson's disease.  We offer both one on one personal training and group programs like Xplode Training Systems and Barre’ Works. The aquatics program supports a world class swim team, private swim lessons, and aquatic group fitness classes. KidWorks provides parents with a place to drop off their children while they work out or attend a fitness class and offers a competitive cheer program. Amenities include a full service juice bar serving healthy smoothies, sandwiches, muffins, and salads, an indoor track, weights, the latest cardio-equipment. HealthWorks is definitely a big gem in a small town. 


About the Area, Nestled near the calm waters of the Ouachita River in the Timberlands region of South Arkansas, El Dorado is undergoing a unique renaissance. Voted as having "America's Best Downtown" in 2009, El Dorado has evolved from a humble oil town into an area rich in southern charm, history and some of the best Arkansas Festivals.

Whether it is enjoying the South Arkansas Symphony, trying new vintages at the Southern Food & Wine Festival or watching a reenactment of a historical gun fight on the Union County Courthouse steps, there is always something to do or see here.
